Subject: Chevee's News - Scallywags Wins Awards!

Hey everyone!
This time around, some amazing things have happened. Scallywags has won two HUGE industry awards! This is great news for the future of the game. The toy industry is big business and winning awards like these helps retailers large and small be assured that they are selecting quality products. That gives us the ability to get Scallywags in more stores so more people can enjoy it!

Parents' Choice Award -
First up, we won a Parents' Choice Recommended Award. This is HUGE for the game as Parents' choice is the largest nonprofit reviewer of children's toys and media in the nation. They publish their recommendations through a variety of award levels and send the information to retailers and distributors alike.

From the review:
"With the silliness of the game, it is easy to overlook the fact that there is a lot of strategy involved in selecting coins to keep for yourself and coins to trade or steal from other players. For ye harties in training, Scallywags is sure to be a hit."

It's awesome to hear that people can pick my game up and inherently see the depth. It is such a simple game I was afraid this would be lost on most. Gamewright did an awesome job with the rules that really helps showcase the subtleties.

Tillywig Award -
The second award we won is the Tillywig Best Family Fun Award. Tillywig, like Parent's Chioce, is a nonprofit reviewer of children's toys and media that publishes their results and submits them to retailers. The reviewer had some really nice things to say:

"Part of what makes Scallywags such great fun is its simplicity and variety. You'll love the hilarious pirate illustrations on the cards, and there's never a dull moment - players employ deduction, math, and visual discrimination skills in acquiring their bounty. All in a day's work for you and your fellow pirates!"

Origins Game Fair -
I'm taking off tomorrow for Columbus. I will be debuting Scallywags with a learn to play tournament. If you didn't get to register for the event, I'll gladly demo the game all day long. The event is in Hall D @ 2pm so swing by and say hi!

Website Update -
No huge updates for the site this time around. Instead, I have focused on little things. The biggest change for you is that I removed the Facebook and Google tracking buttons. I became aware that the Facebook Like button and Google Plus buttons allowed their respective services to track users even if they didn't select the buttons. I do not support unauthorized tracking, so I removed those buttons and replaced them with simple Post buttons. This means a little extra work if you want to share my pages, but it means less snooping.

Thanks for reading!
I'll update next week with an Origins report!
